At Baunova, we are proud to share one of our most notable recent projects: the facade renovation of the emblematic Hotel Meliá Paseo del Mar in the heart of Cádiz. This intervention not only enhances the appearance of the building but also provides greater energy efficiency and durability, ensuring its integration into the urban landscape and the comfort of its guests.
A Comprehensive Project: SATE System for Thermal and Aesthetic Improvement
The renovation involved the application of an External Thermal Insulation System (SATE), an innovative solution that offers numerous aesthetic and functional benefits. By choosing this system, the hotel achieves effective insulation that improves its energy efficiency, reducing heat loss in winter and maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature in summer. This system also helps lower the building’s energy demand, aligning with the growing sustainability values sought in the hotel industry.
Touches of Distinction: Alucobond Profiles and Wood-Effect Ceramic Finish
The elegance of the facade has also been enhanced with Alucobond profiles around the window openings. This highly durable, modern-looking material creates defining lines around the windows, adding a sophisticated touch to the building's overall appearance.
To complete the design, we chose a ceramic cladding with a wood-effect finish, an aesthetic feature that blends seamlessly with the coastal surroundings of Cádiz, offering warmth and harmony to the hotel’s exterior.
White Finish: A Choice for Light and Purity
Finally, the SATE system has been finished with Weber brand white mortar. This finish not only reinforces the iconic image of the building but also highlights its architectural structure and style, perfectly suited to the natural luminosity of southern Spain. The white color helps reflect natural light, enhancing the hotel’s presence in its surroundings and emphasizing its modern and renewed character.
